Freestanding icons have extraordinary detail with vibrant and indelible colors on canvas. Adhering to traditional byzantine iconography. Hand-made silkscreen. Gold leafing on a wooden base. Pantocrator means “Almighty” or “All-powerful”. At the Monastery of the Virgin Mary of Kazan in Russia, there is one more depiction of the Christ as Pantocrator. The icon was hagiographically created in the 16th century, when Ivan IV the Terrible was in power, and it constitutes a typical hagiography sample of Christ of the Russian School inspired by the first icon of Christ Pantocrator, in the first half of the 6th century, the encaustic icon that is in the Monastery of St. Catherine of Sinai.
